Skala summit has been established as a separate peak even though it is the eastern edge of the ridge of Skolio. Its name comes from the natural steps that are formed in the steep slope and from the Latin word scala = stair.
The view towards Megala Kazania and also to the Agios Dionysios gorge is impressive. A demanding, but well-marked path begins from there to the highest peak of Olympus mountain, Mytikas.
