Kalagia summits are situated S-SE of the Plateau of the Muses. They consist of two twin projections which end abruptly towards the gorge of Agios Dionysios. Their aspect from the plateau of the Muses at first gives you the impression that they are not of particular interest. However, on approaching one finds that the view to the East is spectacular, as is the Agios Dionysios gorge.
Their name most probably comes from the Turkish word Kalay = cassiterite, the precious tin mineral with a turquoise color, since the stone slabs which form the two peaks shine like slabs of cassiterite in direct sunlight.
