Skourta | 2.483m

The name of Skourta summit comes from the Albanian word shkurta = quail, although the maps of the Hellenic Military Geographical Service (HMGS) mention the peak by the name Pyrgos (Tower).

Beginning at the refuge of "Petrostrouga" the path passes just a few meters from the bollard of HMGS. The view towards Laimo (neck), the narrow ridge which leads to the Muses Plateau, is especially magical when the clouds rise up through the chasms of Olympus mountain!
