Grivas | 2.394m

Grivas summit (2.394m – 2.360m) is located on the SW side of mountain Olympus in between the summits of Hotza (2.600m) and Pirgos Griva (2.324m).

The approach to the summit is very easy with the use of the forest road which starts from Kalivia village and ends at Christakis Refuge. You can also reach it, from Smeos summit (2.087m) following the red and white signs in about 1 hour (2,5km – 1hour, no path).

The summit was first referred from the German hiker and geologist Richter, who visited the area at 1909, and the French topographer Marcel Kurz.

Summits name might have come from the Vlach dialect and means “Grey horse”, due to the wild horse herds that leave at the area. Another version refers that the name came from the name of a farmer that leaved on the area.
